Telehealth Exercise Physiology: See Your AEP From Wherever You Are
Getting to a clinic is not always simple, and life does not always make room for the trip. Whatever is making it hard to get in right now, we can bring your care to you rather than have you go without it.
Care that comes to you
Telehealth exercise physiology, also known as online or digital exercise physiology, brings your consultation to you. You meet with an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) by secure video, and we prescribe your program the same way we would in the clinic. We have been helping people move well since 2004, and this is one more way we can reach you. It is a real clinical consult, delivered digitally, wherever you happen to be.
Who telehealth is for
Telehealth suits a lot of people, and it might suit you. It works well if you are:
- Living rurally or regionally, some distance from an EP clinic
- Balancing a busy week and looking for care that fits around it
- Caring for children or family, and finding it easier to stay home
- Recovering, or managing your energy, and preferring not to travel just now
- Already a Bodytrack client who wants to continue a program remotely
- Managing an ongoing condition and wanting regular check-ins without the commute
If you would like to talk through whether telehealth is a good fit for you, give us a call. We are happy to help you work it out.
How a telehealth session works
Your session runs by video through Cliniko, our secure booking and consultation system. There is nothing complicated to install. We send you a link, you click it at your appointment time, and we meet face to face on screen.

During the session, your AEP watches how you move, listens to your goals, and answers your questions, just as we would in person. We then build your program through Physitrack, a system we can set up for you live in the session. Your exercises come with clear videos and written instructions, so you always know what to do and how to do it. Everything sits in one place, on your phone or computer, ready whenever you are.
Which conditions suit telehealth
Many of the services we offer in clinic work well online. Telehealth can support:
- Chronic condition management, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, and osteoporosis
- Musculoskeletal pain and injury recovery
- General fitness, strength, and mobility programs
- Falls prevention and balance work
- Women’s health, neurological conditions, and athlete performance, with EPs who specialise in each
- Ongoing programs where you already know your exercises and need review and progression
Rebates and funding
Telehealth exercise physiology may be claimable through the same schemes as in-clinic care.
- Medicare GPCCMP: clients with a valid GPCCMP referral are eligible for Medicare rebates for telehealth
- DVA: card holders can access private EP sessions via telehealth
- NDIS, SIRA, and WorkCover QLD: all recognise telehealth
- Private health funds: some funds, including Australian Unity, Teachers Health Fund, and TUH, and others such as Bupa, Medibank, and HCF, have telehealth items, though each differs, so it is worth asking your insurer
Rebate rules for telehealth can differ from in-clinic care and can change over time. Send us your referral or plan details and we will confirm what you can claim before you book.
What you need to get started
You need very little:
- A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone
- A reliable internet connection
- A small clear space to move, about the size of a yoga mat
- Any equipment your program calls for (we keep this simple and let you know in advance)

That is genuinely all. Physitrack is free and secure for Bodytrack clients, and we guide you through the setup when you book. If you are missing something, tell us, and we will find a way around it.
Frequently asked questions
Is telehealth exercise physiology as good as an in-clinic session?
For most needs, yes. You see the same Accredited Exercise Physiologist and receive the same individually prescribed program, delivered by secure video. Some assessments are better done in person, and we will tell you honestly if that applies to you.
Can I claim a rebate for telehealth exercise physiology?
You may be able to claim through Medicare GPCCMP, DVA, NDIS, SIRA, WorkCover QLD, or your private health fund. Rebate rules for telehealth can differ from in-clinic care, so send us your details and we will confirm what applies before you book.
How do I get my exercise program after a telehealth session?
We build your program through Physitrack during the session. Your exercises come with videos and clear instructions, and they sit in one place on your phone or computer, so you can follow them any time.
Do I need a GP referral for telehealth?
Not for a private appointment. You do need a referral to claim under the Medicare GPCCMP scheme. Call us on 07 3870 4119 if you are not sure what you need.
